Los Angeles, CA- September 30, 2009
- MATECH Corp.
(OTC Bulletin Board: MTCH
- News)
- (MATECH) is pleased to announce that
the Company and Northrop Grumman jointly presented at the
International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global provider of
innovative systems, products, and solutions in aerospace, electronics,
information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government
and commercial customers worldwide. Net annual sales for FY 2008
totaled approximately $33.9 Billion.
The joint presentation,
highly regarded by the attendees, focused on how Northrop Grumman
and MATECH are jointly implementing the new Northrop Grumman
Sensor Information Systems (SIS) program for bridges. Northrop's
SIS integrates inspection systems with various sensor systems,
such as security and environmental. SIS will provide integral
information for bridge infrastructure owners.
A key component
of Northrop's SIS could be MATECH's Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor
(EFS) system, and its use in prioritizing fatigue crack repairs
and verifying retrofits real-time on steel bridges. To date,
MATECH's EFS system is the only technology of its kind to identify
cracks in bridges as small as 0.01 inches.
"We believe that
the presentation at the 2009 International Bridge Conference
was a tremendous success," said Robert M. Bernstein, CEO
of MATECH. "We further believe that by the end of the presentation,
those attending the conference were as confident and excited
as we are that our SIS program with Northrop Grumman could serve
to revolutionize infrastructure management, and in turn serve
to save our failing bridges as well as thwart the devastating
effects their potential collapse."
