Los Angeles, CA- September 11, 2009 - MATECH Corp.
(OTC Bulletin Board: MTCH
- News)
- (MATECH) is pleased to announce that
the Company is working with global leader Northrop Grumman
to help secure the nation's infrastructure and save bridge
owners money from the cost of unnecessary repairs. The two
companies are currently in talks with several public and
private bridge owners which are expected to result in significant
project contracts.
The joint effort will combine Northrop Grumman's global
presence as well as expertise in project management, Sensor
Information Systems (SIS) and systems integration with MATECH's
breakthrough, the Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS) System.
MATECH's EFS is the only nondestructive method able to detect
growing cracks in bridges as small as 0.01 inches.
The effort
to secure the nation's infrastructure will focus on providing
bridge owners with bridge management information previously
unavailable to them. This will help the bridge owners prioritize
repairs and determine the efficacy of the repairs immediately,
as well as detect growing cracks on their structures previously
undetected by conventional nondestructive testing (NDT)
methods.
Robert Bernstein, CEO of MATECH, stated: "We
are extremely pleased to be now working with a global leader
such as Northrop Grumman in our effort to provide a cost
effective solution to the infrastructure crises in the United
States. Since joining forces with Northrop Grumman, MATECH
has witnessed a substantial increase in interest for our
EFS technology from bridge owners and municipalities across
the nation. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship
with Northrop Grumman."
MATECH has a proven track record
of saving bridge owners money through improving bridge management
and public safety with its cutting edge technology, the
EFS System. Through eliminating subjectivity of inspections
for cracking in bridge members (the FHWA has stated that
90% of these cracks are missed with visual inspection),
MATECH is helping to eliminate wasted funds by prioritizing
repairs and verifying their effectiveness immediately."
