Los Angeles, CA - May 14, 2007
-- In March, 2007, Material Technologies, Inc.
("MATECH" or "the Company") (OTC BB; MTTG.OB - News)
Director of Marketing, Dr. Brent Phares, PE, was invited to
give the keynote address at the 2007 China Bridge Congress.
During that address, Dr. Phares highlighted both the safety
and economic advantages of implementing MATECH’s Electrochemical
Fatigue Sensor (EFS). Attending the Congress were representatives
from both private and public entities. Although heavily
attended by Chinese engineers and administrators, representatives
from Japan, South Korea, and throughout Europe were in attendance.
Since the Congress was completed, MATECH has received a significant
number of inquiries about its technology. Currently, MATECH
is in discussions with various organizations about completing
demonstration-type projects. Further, Dr. Phares, reknowned
bridge engineering expert, has been invited back to China to
provide further technical information. In May, 2007 Dr.
Phares will be again meeting with representatives from throughout
China.
"MATECH is very pleased, but not surprised, with the interest
in China and elsewhere." said MATECH CEO Robert M. Bernstein. "With
the significant amount of infrastructure being built in China,
there is no doubt that they will need good assessment tools. The
ability to growing cracks as small as 0.01 in. is clearly of
great use to bridge owners worldwide – both in terms of
improving safety and reducing costs."
